Google Analytics 101

There are five report suites inside Google Analytics, each offering distinct types of information to facilitate effective website behavior analysis.

These five different report types include:

Real Time Audience Acquisition Behavior Conversions Some sites may not utilize all of these reports. For instance, if you’re not involved in selling anything, you might not need the conversion suite. (However, it’s still beneficial for tracking conversions to your email list and similar.

Real-Time

Real-time reports provide insights into what is currently happening on your site. These Google Analytics reporting tools allow you to understand what is happening on your website right at the moment you’re viewing the report. This live information includes details about your current traffic and the pages people are viewing.

Audience

The audience reports offer valuable information about the visitors on your site. They provide data such as demographics (age and gender), interests, geographical location, device and browser type they use, etc., all crucial for a comprehensive website behavior analysis.

Acquisition

Acquisition reports inform you about your traffic sources. They provide information such as keywords used to find your site and referral links. As a business development manager, this will help you identify your most effective keywords and marketing channels.

Behavior

The behavior reports provide insights such as which pages people are viewing, their navigation paths, page load times, etc. These data points are essential for any business development manager to understand which articles are most popular and how to enhance user experience.

Conversions

The conversion reports reveal how effective your site is at making sales or getting email signups or encouraging users to take other desired actions.

Those are the five different types of Google Analytics reporting suites and the type of information each one provides. Ideally, you’ll be using each of these different types of reports to leverage the full power offered by Google Analytics for effective website behavior analysis.
